It is quite unfortunate that many people have been categorized under the user of this word- Afraid. I’m sure many of you have heard this word many times. In fact, not just this, but also, worried. Well, if you say I have, you are definitely right. And that is what I want to talk about today. Well then, what does it mean to be afraid? The word afraid can be categorized under a major term- Fear. Trust me when I say that Fear is an obstacle that makes you utter words or phrases such as, “I am afraid” or “The room is too dark”. Seriously? Is the room too dark? Have you forgotten all that the Bible says about being afraid? Words like afraid, worried, and scared all fall under Fear that comes from Darkness which is the devil’s world. Trust me, you are not the only one who has had experiences that make you speak these words. Even Jesus Christ and the disciples have had worse experiences than you have. So, why don’t I take you through some instances in the Bible where fear was not an option.
- Jesus Calms The Storm- Mark 4:35-41
The Bible is the best example and so, looking at the scripture Mark chapter 4 verses 35-41, you will find out that fear was not an option. The disciples and Jesus Christ were in the boat. Jesus, on the other hand, was asleep while there was trouble at hand. As the Bible tells us, waves broke over the boat. The disciples were filled with fear in fact, they did not know what to do and because of that, they woke Jesus up and asked him if he did not care that they were going to drown instantly, Jesus up and said with great power, “Peace be still”. What shocking news even the disciples were amazed as they said to one another, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” This is an amazing example and as you’ve heard, Jesus Christ had not risen to fear. So, if truly we have been called to be Christians and also, sons and daughters of God, why must we be afraid? No! It is not right. As long as the devil sees that weakness, he strikes, sending more and more obstacles to block your way.
So, brothers and sisters in the Lord, is it in the business, financial, educational, or any aspect of your life that all these obstacles are coming in? Well, I have good news for you and that is, “fear is not an option” Trust God, brethren, believe in him for even the scripture Psalms 48 says that God is our refuge, he is our strength so trust in him. There have been instances when these weapons of darkness, and fear try to hold me down, every step of the way say to myself that fear can’t hold me down. So people of Christ, are you willing to take this step within me in proving the enemy wrong? Well if you are, kindly close your eyes and repeat after me
PRAYER: Dear God, give me the strength to trust you always. O God, the battle belongs to you, so heavenly father, help me stay on the right path for no one is greater than you. Thank you, Lord, for always being there for me. In Jesus Name Amen.
