The word “attack” simply means to set upon something or someone with or without a weapon .
What Does It Mean To Be Attacked Spiritually?
As Christians, the devil always tries to attack us because our relationship with God is very strong and that is why we as devoted Christians must always follow the way of the Lord. To be spiritually attacked means to fight against supernatural forces that intervene not only in your christian life but, in every aspect of your life. As Christians, learn to involve God in everything you’re doing because in Isaiah 41 : 10, the Lord said “ Do not fear for I am with you, do not be dismayed for I am your God . I will strengthen you and help you , I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. The Lord has promised that he will strengthen and uphold us so don’t feel reluctant in involving God in everything you’re doing . David as a child of God involved God in everything he was doing for instance, he involved God when he was going to kill Goliath . David did not know how to fight or defeat however, he prayed to God because, he knew God would fight for hi m, and he eventually killed Goliath. In psalms 35:1-2 , David told the Lord to arise and fight his battle for Him .
Why We Should Not Make Room For Attacks As Christians
As children of God , the devil must not have a way in any aspect of our lives . Jesus explains in John 10:10, the thief comes only to steal , kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life and have it to the full. As Christians, we are expected to refrain from sinning because if we do so , the devil cannot have access to us . We must be obedient and always move with God . The devil always wants room for attacks but if we continually obey the word, move with God , Pray without ceasing , Win souls for Christ , involve God in everything we’re doing etc. Then, the devil will not have a way in our lives because we did not make room for him. Jesus came to save us and free us from all evils . He has promised us that he would never fail so all we have to do is have faith and involve him in everything we’re doing just like David did .
How To Overcome Attacks
As Christians , we face attacks both spiritually and physically however, we must be able to overcome them and by doing so , we are expected to put on the full armor of God. Some ways to overcome attacks are;1. We must stand on His word : This simply means , we must stand on the word so when the enemy tries to deceive us , we would be able to defend ourselves. That is also why memorizing scriptures is very important because we are able to fight with the word on God. Psalms 119: 11 says thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against you.We must pray without ceasing:2. Prayer is the key and this can also help us overcome attacks both spiritually and physically. You must continue to pray and spend time with the Lord.1John 4:4 says ,Little children , you are from God and have overcome them for he that is in you is greater than he that is in the world.3. Walk Alongside with Others: This includes the type of people you walk with in your spiritual life. They may be your pastors, parents ,mentors ,spiritual leaders in church or family . The bible says in proverbs 24:6,For by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors, there is victory.The bible also says where two or more are gathered in His name , he is there.As Christians, we must remain connected and stand with each other so that we don’t fall victims to the devils plans and we don’t forget our faith in God.
