For so long now the controversy behind the character, ‘Jesus’, has been persistent among several religions(Christianity is not a religion though, it’s a lifestyle) all around the world. So who really is Jesus? Is he a prophet from God, Is He God? Is He just someone who lived on this earth? Or is He one of those fairytales we were told while growing up?
In this article, we will dive into different points of controversy that have been raised, and then come to a solid conclusion. So without much further ado, let’s dive straight in.
Jesus came to save the world
One major point that many Christians say is that Jesus came to save the world. Well, did we really need saving? From Genesis 1-2, we see that God created the whole.
By the way, I agree with this because it is quite dumb, even to science, to think the whole world was created from a very hot rock and evolution.
God created the environment then he created the birds, plants, fishes, etc, and gave them instructions. Then he created man in his own image and likeness. Man, as God created, was pure and sinless but then the devil deceived man and man fell – got separated from God.
Man was then corrupted by evil and so needed to be saved. The fall of man brought things like depression, lust, anger, sickness, death, wickedness. Basically, everything that’s bad was a result of sin. The proof of this corruption is evident today. Look around you. It’s quite obvious. God created the water, birds, and everything and they were all good. Why will he create man and put evil in them so they kill and destroy themselves? I don’t think that’s reasonable. Do you?
Without any atom of doubt, the world really needed to be saved. We have been trying to handle it ourselves for decades but each time we end up going deeper and deeper into this mess. See how depression is being handled for example.
Fast forward to the New Testament, Jesus, who was prophesied about in the Old Testament by several prophets, was then born, grew up, and started his ministry to save the world.
His Ministry Continues till date
When you study and look into his ministry you will observe that everything he did was all in line with taking evil out of this world. He raised the dead, healed the sick, healed mental illnesses, and much more. Of course, the miracles he did were not enough to save the whole world they were mainly evidence of who He is.
Furthermore, he raised disciples, of which some became apostles. Then he died and rose up(another point of controversy we will tackle later). If Jesus really came to save the world, then what He did then should not have stopped with Him it should have continued even to this day and we should see people being transformed even today. Well, it is. There are tons of miracles, wonders, healing, and revelation, happening today and they are being done by the same people who follow Christ.

Look into what Christians are doing today. Many people are so against them that they are blinded to see the truth for what it really is. If we really want to find out the sincere truth, do so with an open heart and mind. I haven’t always been a Christian, but now that I am, I have seen the difference.
Jesus came to save the world. He came and opened the door for man to be united with God then He set systems in place to ensure that when He left what He started would continue. Thousands of years later, what he did is still happening. I don’t see any evidence that will be greater than this. Especially when what we are dealing with the supernatural. How is it possible to raise the dead, or heal sicknesses and lives just by praying and speaking forth? Scientifically it’s not. But yet it is happening in our eyes today. This shows that the source of all this trouble is spiritual so needed a spiritual means to be taken away.
Of course not everybody performing a miracle is a true person. That’s why Jesus explicitly showed how to differentiate between the True and False people: “By their fruits you shall know them”.
Jesus was sinless
This point unlike many others is one that even Muslims agree is true. It actually makes sense that it is because Jesus came to save the world of sin. To do that, he himself has to have conquered sin. It just like in teaching math. How can I teach you algebra when I haven’t really conquered that topic.
So for Jesus to to save the world, he had to have been able to conquer sin because a sinful man cannot save another sinful man.
Jesus is the Son of God
Unlike many other points, this one has been argued and disputed several times by several people. It’s just one that many people don’t agree with.
From the prior sections, we see that Jesus came to save the world of sin and also we see he was sinless. If he was nopt God, he would not have been able to save the world. Period.
Picture this, imagine a blind person needs to get to a specific destination. Obvious he can’t go on his on because he lacks the ability of sight. Another blind person most certainly will not be able to help him either. Only one that can see.
In the same way, we were in sin. We could not save ourselves. It was only someone who could not be contaminated by sin that could save us otherwise wqe will be like the two blind people. And the only one who could do this was God. But, how does this show Jesus is the Son of God.
Well it depends on how you define ‘Father and Son’. According to Apostle Micheal Orokpko, The term Father means tha one that things originated from. The term Son is hence what originates from the Father. God is a spirit and is seated in Heaven. Then he spoke a word, which became flesh – Jesus.
Conclusion
Generally, some of what Jesus says sounds outrageous, but the thing is the evidence of what He says is being seen today. So it actually isn’t the best to conclude based on what you hear from others. Open your heart to Him and willingly look for the answer. Once you open up to Him, you’ll find Him.
