What Does it Mean To Be Attacked?
To be attacked means to set upon someone forcibly, with hostile or violent intent. Attack is the most general word and applies to the beginning of hostilities, especially those planned: to attack from ambush. There must be something about you that a person doesn’t like for them to attack you, there must be something he/she has against you that instigated that attack.
Why Do Christians Get Attacked?
The same thing happens in Christianity, attacks come from the devil, he hates the fact that our goal is to turn the world away from him and back to God and so he tries to do everything in his power to stop us.
Jesus came to save the world, and it was very clear that the devil was not happy about that, he tried several times to distract Him and make him give up but Jesus had his mind set on accomplishing the will of God, He knew it wouldn’t be easy but He made that his top priority and did everything in order to fulfill his ministry.
Philippians 1:29 says
“For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.” Philippians 1:29 ”
The kinds of things Jesus did were against the principles of the world and so they rejected him, he meant well for them but they persecuted him because the world is highly influenced by the devil and his evil ways and so this scripture simply means that the work we have been sent to do is not an easy one, just as Jesus went through several challenges, we are bound to go through them as well, we will be persecuted and rejected but we must remember what the bible says in
1 Corinthians 10:31
Persecution creates a canvas for God to paint a picture of His glory through your perseverance. It testifies to His power, strength, mercy, and love. Therefore, whatever you do, do it for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31)
The same God who sent you will give you the power to overcome, see every difficulty as an opportunity to glorify God through your perseverance, don’t give the devil what He wants; Victory, when he sends an attack, shock him by your determination and perseverance.
